- Crossing over: dosing, sealing the Box and waking up somewhere else.
- The Corridor: endless doors, chalk, and finding home again.
- Other worlds: arriving, the traveler's tape, getting back, and being stranded.
- Box upgrades: windows, lamps, faster seals, bookmarks and tuning.
- FAQ: quick answers to the questions everyone asks.
Ways to play¶
When you create a world you can pick how your story starts.
| World type | You start with | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Default (any normal world) | Nothing. Mine, build the Box and brew the Serum yourself. | The full survival experience. |
| CityStart | A brownstone in Chicago's South Loop with a lab in the basement: a finished Box and an Expedition Locker full of Serum. The First Steps quest walks you to your first door. | Jumping straight into the worlds. |
| Story (the Story button on the Create World screen) | One of two stories, or your own mix. Black Box: another you takes your life, and you have to find your way back to your own Chicago. Sliders: finish the remote in your nightstand and slide between universes until home comes round again. | A guided adventure with a beginning and an end. |
The Traveler's Guide
Everyone gets a Traveler's Guide book. It grows as you play: new chapters open as you gather, build and travel, and every world you visit gets an Atlas page. It also lists your open quests. Lost it? Craft another:
