lilliput-giantWhat happens when you arrive¶
You step out of the Box at your normal size. Then, a few steps away, you grow: over three seconds the world sinks around you until the trees come up to your chest. You are three times your height. Below you, among the flowers, are people a few inches tall living in brick villages the size of a garden bed. Tiny voices drift up from somewhere near your feet: "Sneak, and you will not crush anything."
The rule: you are a giant¶
| What changes | How much |
|---|---|
| Size | Three times as tall. |
| Speed | About 1.6 times as fast on foot. |
| Jump | About 1.4 times as high. |
| Step | You walk straight up 2-block steps without jumping. |
| Reach | Twice as far. |
| Fall damage | You can fall three times as far before it hurts. |
| Attack | Your fists and weapons hit twice as hard. |
Within 4 blocks of the arrival Box you are always your normal size, so you can squeeze back in and close the door. In a cave or under a roof you only grow as far as there is room, so you never suffocate.
Mind your feet¶
Walking (not sneaking) over these flattens them:
- Lilliputian houses:
Lilliput Brick and
Lilliput Roof Tiles - Flowers, crops, flower pots and candles
Breaking any of them by hand counts too. Hold sneak to walk without crushing anything.
The Lilliputians¶
Alone, a Lilliputian is harmless: it has 2 hearts and does half a heart of damage at most. A crowd is another matter. If you crush or break a house, or hurt a Lilliputian, every Lilliputian within 16 blocks swarms you for 30 seconds. One of them is a pinprick. Forty of them are not.
Every Lilliputian carries a pinch of
Lilliput Saffron and drops it if it dies.
Ordinary monsters (zombies, skeletons, creepers and the rest) spawn here at night as usual, and to you they are now small, around your ankles. Farm animals graze the plains.
lilliput-swarmThe villages¶
Villages are small, about 23 blocks across, built from Lilliput Brick with orange tile roofs around a tall hall
in the middle. The hall chest always holds 2 to 4 Lilliput Saffron, plus a few of: bread, gold nuggets,
wheat seeds, and sometimes a
Phase Salt Crystal.
Getting to that chest without stepping on anything is the puzzle. Sneak in, mind the roofs, and remember your long reach: you may be able to open the chest without stepping inside.
lilliput-hallWhat to bring home¶
| Find | Where | Why it's worth it |
|---|---|---|
| Village hall chests (2 to 4), and one from any Lilliputian. | The world's Serum ingredient (see below). | |
| The village houses. They drop themselves. | Bright red brick and orange tiles for building. | |
| Sometimes in the hall chest. | A Serum lab ingredient you otherwise fetch from the Nether. |
Serum and getting home¶
- The arrival Box's cache holds 2 Serum Ampoules.
- Native stand-in:
Lilliput Saffron. It goes into the Synthesizer in place of Somnium Powder. - To leave, walk back to the Box: you shrink back to normal size as you get close, step in and shut the door.
Tips¶
- Sneak through villages. It is slower, but it costs you nothing.
- Use your doubled reach to keep your feet clear of the roofs while you loot.
- A peaceful raid on the hall chest gets you 2 to 4 saffron. Killing Lilliputians gets one each and brings the swarm.
- Your safe fall height is three times normal, so you can hop off small cliffs freely.
Birds¶
Birds you can photograph for your bird log here. Open one to turn it round, watch it move and hear its call.
- Courier Finch: common
- The Admiral's Eagle: rare, dangerous

The traveler's tape¶
Every arrival Box has a chest by its door holding a cassette: the last traveler reading their journal of this world aloud. This is what they say. It gives a lot away.
Read the journal (spoilers)
I came out of the Box and the Box was tiny, and so was everything else: I am three times my height here, and the trees come up to my chest. There are people, a few inches tall, living in brick villages the size of a garden bed, and the first one I found I had already walked through. Every step flattens flowers, crops and houses unless I creep along sneaking, and the Lilliputians come out in swarms after whoever did it; one of them is a pinprick, forty of them are not. They grow saffron, and each village keeps its store in the chest of the tall hall at its centre: it goes into the Synthesizer in place of Somnium Powder. The Box keeps me at my own size while I stand near it, so I could still squeeze in, sit down, and close the door with the Serum still in me.
